Congratulations to our friends at the Greater New York Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience for winning the Chapter-of-the-Year Award! The award was presented to Chapter President Ho Yu, Ph.D., and Chapter Vice President Kelley Remole, Ph.D., at the Society’s annual meeting in San Diego last week.
According to the Society for Neuroscience website, the award “recognizes outstanding chapters for their efforts and accomplishments across a broad range of activities that are in line with the mission and strategic initiatives of SfN.”
Among their accomplishments, last year the Greater New York Chapter led the collaborative effort to organize the braiNY program with more than 20 events in New York City for Brain Awareness Week. Partners included the American Museum of Natural History, New York University, Columbia University, and Story Collider.
And there will be more where that came from this March, as plans are underway to bring even more neuroscience to the city during Brain Awareness Week (March 10-16). Be sure to check out the braiNY Facebook page and new website for more details. To learn more about Brain Awareness Week worldwide, visit the Dana Foundation website.
