The Dana Foundation website offers a wide variety of information about neuroscience. Brain Resources for Seniors (BRFS) is a section on the website that focuses on seniors and issues that affect them. I’ve decided to highlight this section, not only because I maintain the links, but because many people have elderly family members and act as caregivers to them. It’s also great to know some of this information as we age.
Located in the general resources section of BRFS, the American Society on Aging website offers web seminars, publications, and information on caregiving. There are sections for mental health, physical health, and senior education courses.
The Automobile Association of America (AAA) has a section for senior drivers that helps older adults navigate the road. There are articles about nighttime driving and information about refresher driving courses.
Senior Corps connects adults ages 55 and older with community service projects in need of volunteers. Not only are participants helping to make a difference, they are bettering themselves by staying active and social.
I edit BRFS on a quarterly basis (it was last updated in June), and always find it interesting to browse through some of the portals of information and resources regarding various health and general resource information. You will, too! Visit http://dana.org/resources/seniors/.
